Q. What is the Bujinkan?
A. The Bujinkan is the name of the organization created by Grand master Masaaki Hatsumi (Soke). What the bujinkan teaches is called Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. Budo Taijutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that teaches how to use timing, distancing, and angling to defend yourself and your loved ones. It also consists of bone breaking and joint manipulations, multiple attackers and weapons. Budo Taijutsu also consists of striking, grappling, choking and rolling. This is NOT a sport and there are no competitions for Bujinkan members. We train in a safe environment but with an emphasis on reality. Budo Taijutsu is as much mental as it is physical.
